It all started in Madrid. I was 20 and well on my way to a BS in public relations. Hailing from a family of allopathic practitioners (a nurse practitioner and an MD), I found myself sick with a sore throat in a foreign city. Seeking the help from a Western Physician, this kind man was the first person to ever tell me that my body had the power to heal itself; that he could give me pharmaceuticals but that they would only mask the problem and potentially cause more. Soon after I began taking yoga classes and connecting with the energies in and around me. I returned to the US several months later knowing that I was about to drastically change course. Upon graduation from Syracuse University (2001) I completed certification as a yoga teacher through Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center in Hurleyville, NY.

During my years teaching yoga, Ai Chi and Qi gong, it became clear that if I really wanted to help people I would need more training. I went on to study as a Chinese Medical Doctor and graduated from Five Branches University in Santa Cruz, CA (2006), a 2000 hr masters program. On graduation day I was initiated into motherhood with the birth of my fist child. Now a mother of three children and one dog, Chinese medicine and western herbology are daily parts of our lives.

I maintain licenses with both NCCAOM/NCBAHM and NCALB. I have over 200 hour training in Five Element Acupunture and 20+ years of clinical experience working with:

  • pre-natal

  • post-partum

  • menopause and women’s health

  • pediatrics

  • digestive issues

  • adrenal fatigue

  • general health

I grow both Chinese and Western herbs on my .4 acre urban garden in West Asheville. These herbs I use to makes oils, body products and teas.
